Accessibility
Everyone should be able to explore the matrix.
This site is an interactive observatory rather than a page of text, which makes accessibility a design problem as much as a code one. This statement records where it stands honestly — what has been built for, what is still short, and how to tell us when it fails you.
The standard we build to
The Iconic Leadership Matrix targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the conformance level we design, review, and fix against.
Current status
Partially conformant, and actively being remediated. Most of the site meets Level AA, and known failures are being worked through rather than waived.
What already works
Every part of the matrix is reachable by keyboard. The 3D constellation is decorative in the accessibility sense — the same stages, traits, principles, outcomes, traditions, and leaders are all available as ordinary buttons in the readout panel and in the command palette, and a fully operable 2D constellation replaces the 3D field whenever WebGL is unavailable or reduced motion is set.
The detail viewer and the command palette are real modal dialogs: focus moves into them, Tab is trapped inside them, Escape closes them, and focus returns to whatever opened them. There is a skip link to the main content, and a persistent Reduce animationscontrol in the header that is remembered between visits and also follows your operating system’s reduced-motion setting. Nothing plays audio unless you press the music control yourself.
Known limitations
The interface floats translucent glass panels over full-bleed imagery. On the brightest plates, some small muted labels in the chrome can fall below the 4.5:1 contrast minimum, even with the scrims we place behind them. Reducing that dependence on translucency is the main outstanding piece of work.
The ambient score is an instrumental loop with no speech, so it carries no captions or transcript. It never plays on its own.
The 3D field responds to pointer hover for its preview cards; the same previews are not available to keyboard-only users, who get the full detail view on activation instead.

We aim to acknowledge every accessibility report within five working days, and to come back to you with either a fix or a plan and a timeline for one.
